Don't need to brush your teeth if you have no teeth?
As you brush your teeth, you should also clean your tongue and gums in addition to your teeth. The mucous membrane, gums, alveoli, and other tissues are still present in the mouth despite the absence of teeth. There are places for germs to hide themselves and grow. The elderly still need to frequently clean their mouths even if only have few teeth left.
How much toothpaste to squeeze?
We recommend using a pea-sized amount of toothpaste for adults and kids ages 3 and up. For younger children, a rice-sized smear of toothpaste should be used from when the first tooth erupts until age 3 years.
Don't brush your teeth after a meal?
Never brush your teeth right away after consuming acidic foods like strawberries, oranges, and the like. Certain meals that include oxalic acid and benzoic acid speed up the loss of calcium from the surface of the teeth and lessen their hardness. Hence, brushing your teeth right away after eating sour food runs the risk of removing the calcium coating from them, which could harm your dental health and, in extreme situations, result in tooth sensitivity.
